A beautiful piece of tulipwood from Drumderg, north of Lough Neagh was used to make this. Stained with coffee, burned and ebonised to provide different looks.

The hand burnt design is a replication of the Pitney Brooch, an 11th Century brooch measuring 3.9cm made out of copper alloy/ gold found in Pitney, England.

The brooch depicts a battle between an animal and a snake, a common theme within the Viking period.

Measures 6.5 inch diameter by 2 inch deep.
