Tulipwood from the north shores of Lough Neagh, near Cranfield.
The design is found in the Pentney Hoard, consisting of six openwork brooches, five of silver, and one of silver and copper alloy. The silver and copper brooch is notable because it's the only one thought to have been worn, the smallest of the six at 6.1cm, and the oldest.
It is that one replicated here and hand burnt.
The plate measures 8 inches by 2 deep.
