Tulipwood from the northern shores of Lough Neagh was used to make this plate, decorated with intrinsic pattern work found in The Book of Kells.

The Book of Kells was renowned for it's intricate, and often small detailed patterns that, with many other patterns, formed lavishly detailed pages with bright, eye-catching colours.

It's history is as chaotic as it's pages, having been lost, stolen, dumped in a ditch, almost destroyed several times, and the attempts to save it.

Plate measures 8 inches by 1.5 deep.
