Iðunn, in Norse mythology, was the wife of the god Bragi, and is mentioned in the Prose Edda. She was the keeper of apples and could grant eternal youthfulness. Loki, forced by the jötunn Þjazi, lures Iðunn from Asgard with the promise of apples fairer than her own. With no Iðunn, the gods grew old and grey, and realise Loki is to blame- and he sets to make it right.
